To find parking at the Santa Rosa Junior College, you have to leave your house almost 2 hours before your class starts. Otherwise, you will have to park far away or not park at all. Now with the construction going on, we have fewer parking spaces.

With the new construction on campus, parking has gotten worse. The have blocked off almost half of the Emeritus Student parking for construction workers only. I understand that they need somewhere to park but have them get there early and find parking like the rest of us. We have to leave for school at least 2 hours early. Why not have the construction workers do the same? Why give them top priority? They are getting paid to go to work. We pay hundreds, some of us even thousands, to go to school. We should have top priority! AFTER ALL, WE PAY FOR PARKING! All they have is a piece of paper that says construction parking. A parking pass is definitely not cheap! It costs $60.00 for a semester permit.

The construction workers came in and took over our parking. They put up a fence with a big sign that says, "CONSTRUCTION PARKING ONLY." I think this is very unfair to us students. Like I said, we should have top priority. Sure, they are working on the new building and getting paid for doing it. But we are working towards a degree and paying hundreds of dollars, some of us even thousands! It is very unfair the way they have made parking for construction workers easier.

It sucks because the construction parking doesn't even get half full. But students can't park there because the sign says, "No students or faculty." The faculty has their own parking and I understand that. They need their own parking. We have our own parking also, but having the construction workers take up half of our parking at the Emeritus Student parking, is very unreasonable. The Emeritus Student parking is the best parking area we have. Most classes are in the Emeritus building. Even the Santa Rosa Junior College main offices are there.

The workers just get there drive into their parking area, park and go to work. We get there at least 2 hours before, we drive around for about an hour, still no luck, we park behind an already parked car waiting for another car to leave, and when/ or if we see a car leave, about 5 cars fight for the same parking space.
