I slowly drove around to find one under the prickly heat of the sun. Soon after some perspiring attempts I finally hit upon one narrow space between two cars. Slowly, I did my maneuver back and forth trying to enclose my car in-between, but to my dismay the parking space was too narrow even for a bantam car like mine and I could not pull-in despite several tries.
To my desperation, I decided to leave the area and braved again into the busy traffic. As I drove on I lethargically murmured "Gosh! if I may have parking wheels I could have just easily parked in".
As you will see, my idea about the "parking wheels" originated from this annoying parking experiences as I regularly drive in the busy city with a long line of parked cars along the street . You cannot always go to a mall for a pay parking space. There are many times you will be constrained to park your car alongside the busy street because the place of your destination is just some footsteps away. And there goes the problem. I could not always find space enough for my car despite several back-and-forth maneuvers.
I just had an idea that should there be a manufacturer who could invent cars with built-in, automatic, folding parking wheels right under the chassis, it can be easier for the driver to just push a button and activate it, skate the car crosswise onto the tight parking space without the usual back-and-forth maneuvering . These extra wheels must be able to turn in all direction. The driver can steer it to the left or right or turn around. Just pull off the car alongside the tight empty space, press the button to activate your parking wheels, steer the wheels, and park the car diagonally.
You could imagine the wheels of an airplane which fold up as it flies into the air and stretch down as it lands on the runway. The only difference is that it could not be turned around unlike that of the parking wheels.
It may also be a space saver in your home. Can you imagine a small garage in front of your small lot; say about 4 diagonal meters length and 3 meters wide? You just put on the parking wheels, steer it to the left or right to where the garage is located, drive in sideways and park your car as if it were inside the box. Great!
I think many people will buy this idea because it is always a headache for the driver to find a parking space on the busy street, and whenever there is one, the driver could not fit his car in however he makes several moves - because it happens to be a mere car-length space. The "parking wheels" shall surely solve not only this parking problem but in so many ways it could be utilized.
Calling manufacturers!!! But don't forget it is my bright idea!
