Parks in Americas Northeast

In Americas Northeast tradition is always in season. Each year, thousands of tourists arrive at cities in the northeast to enjoy the mild climate and the many activities that this culturally rich area is known for. The northeast area consists of New York, Ontario, Maine and New Brunswick. This area is known for its wonderful climate and the many international activities for families of different cultural ethnicities. For families traveling to this area on vacation there are many interesting and exciting things happening all year round. But if you are just longing for a quiet afternoon spent enjoying the kids at one of the local parks, there are many to choose from.

The Bug Light Park in South Portland, ME, features a pre-civil war lighthouse that is considered to be the centerpiece of this quaint little park. This is the perfect place for an afternoon of picnicking by the lake or a few hours spent playing on the recreational equipment with your children. The winds blowing in off the Ocean also makes this park an excellent spot for flying kites. Leddy Park in South Portland is located on the edge of Lake Champion and is home to a wonderful indoor skating rink. This park is often full, even during the winter months. It has a playground where the kids can play on all the latest, state of the art playground equipment. It also has tennis courts and a seven mile bike path along the lakeshore, where you can spend an afternoon biking and enjoying the magnificent views of the lake. Oakledge Park in VT, features a beautiful 500 foot tree house that is accessible to children who are handicapped or in wheelchairs. The other highlights of this park include a small beach, covered picnic areas for enjoying your lunch and tennis courts that are lighted for your enjoyment at night. White Park in Concord, NH is a popular year round destination for tourists to this area. White Park is very popular during the winter months because they have a wonderful outdoor ice skating rink that can be enjoyed by the whole family, as well as great sledding hills when the snow falls. They also have a swimming pool and tennis courts that are to be enjoyed during the summer months. Tadpole playground is the oldest public park in America. It's located in Boston MA and is a popular spot among the children who live in this area, as well as tourists. This park is located directly in the heart of the Boston Common, directly across from the Public Gardens. This park features state of the art playground equipment and lots of beautiful scenery to be enjoyed by all.

The Gorham Crosby Park in Centerville MA, is just one block away from the beaches on Cape Cod. It is also located right across the street from a candy store where you can treat the kids to all their favorites after a long day of play. There are two benches located right outside the candy store where you can sit and watch your children at play. The Impossible Dream Park in Warwick, RI is another park that is wonderful for the children who live in the area, as well as those who are just vacationing. Make believe play gets a big jump start on the real world here. This park is just filled with wonderful play equipment designed to resemble awe inspiring castles, bridges and houses. These are designed especially to encourage side by side playtime for children, which enables them to make friends easily while they have fun and enjoy their playtime together.
