Parkview, we found, was huge huge park that was very flat and towards the back of the park were some permanent spaces and and homes where were people living year round. The park was so large and so flat it made for a great place to get in a walk. The man in the office was a little bit grumpy but we were using our expired Passport America membership card. We had paid our dues but hadn't received the new card yet. Think he was grumpy because he called Passport America to make sure we really were members and had paid our dues. Guess you can't blame him. From then on, we offered to make the call if the park wanted.
The sites were very easy to get in and out of and we had no neighbors as the park was really almost empty. They do have very strict rules. Check out is 11am and if you go past that 11:00am hour, you WILL be charged for an extra night! Wireless Internet is available at most sites, but not all of the sites. We didn't need it so didn't get the password but it's on the welcome sheet crossed off so we didn't ask if access was still available. If you need it, I would recommend asking when you call for a reservation.
They have a laundry with a public phone and even a phone jack for your use. They have an exchange library in the office. You're to park only in front or behind your rig and NOT in the space next to you even if it's empty. Pets are welcome on leashes and are not allowed to run loose. You are responsible for cleaning up after your pets. No open fires are allowed but they do allow BBQ grills and campstoves. To wash your vehicle you need to pay a $2.00 fee per vehicle. That's pretty standard.
We found this park in the Passport America directory but it may be listed in other directories. No early check-ins and no late check outs. No credit cards, please. Rates are for two people with a $1 for each additional person. $2 additional for A/C and heat. $2 additional for cable TV. Regular rate is $20 a night and Passport America rate is $10 a night. Tent camping is ok.
They have 86 RV sites 25'X 100', pull throughs and can accommodate any size motorhome. They have a comfort station which I think is men and women showers and restrooms or bathhouse. It was very very easy to pull in and out of our site.
Local events include: April, Open Road Race, October, Open Road Race, Marathon, Sheepdog trials, Cinco de Mayo and much more. Call the park for details.
