Five Great Part Time Jobs for Moms

Beth Blue
This is the time of year that kids are going back to school. If you are a stay at home mom you might be thinking of getting a part time job. I have a list of great part time jobs you may want to check out. In this economy, families need to make extra money, or maybe you just want to get some holiday cash in your pocket, or gas money...

Part Time Job at a School

I work for the local school district. This is a great part time job for moms. I only work three hours a day, so I am home in the morning and the afternoon when the kids are. We all have the same days off too. The schools offer great pay and benefits if you work enough hours. Here, it's twice as much as you'd make working at McDonald's. Oh, and we get a raise each school year. Jobs include nutrition services, office clerk, playground supervisor, and many more.

Part Time Job at a Florist

This can be a temporary position during holidays like Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentine's Day, Easter, and the biggie - Mother's Day! You don't need to have experience to deliver bouquets, answer phones, and prep the flowers. Flower shops are always in need of help. You might even get some beautiful flowers and plants out of the deal.

Part Time Job in Childcare

You are already doing it, why not get paid? Full time child care is a big commitment, but how about just a few hours after school? Your kids get to play with someone, and you make some money.

Part Time Job Dog Walking

Are the neighbors working so much that they can't walk their dogs? If so, offer to walk them for a few dollars a week. Just think of it as getting paid to exercise!

Part Time Job at Starbuck's

Work twenty hours and you will get benefits including retirement and stock options, plus FREE coffee. A mom's gotta love free coffee. Even with the closing of some Starbuck's stores, they need workers.

So there five ideas for part time work to get you started. Of course fast food and grocery store are always hiring too. But these are jobs that are fun!
