Party Favors Should Be Age Appropriate

And Should Be Lots of FUN!

Birthday party favors should be age appropriate. If you know there will be different age ranges at the party, plan appropriately. One of the best places I've found to buy party favors is the Dollar Tree. There is usually a good selection and very inexpensive. Birthday party favors should be placed in individual party bags and either placed at each place setting or you can personally hand them out near the end of the party.

Always purchase more birthday party favors than you actually will need. Inevitably, a child will lose their bag, or break the party favor and to avoid tears, you should always have a few spares.

Birthday party favors should include any kind of penny candy, possibly Smarties, Tootsie Rolls, Double Bubble Bubble Gum, or similar kinds. I personally like to include a cool designed pencil (to encourage learning), a Maze- to encourage hand - eye coordination ( the maze with the small ball bearing - these usually come in a pack of four), a small bottle of bubbles - the type you use at weddings (also nice because if spilled, not much of a mess), If you are having your party at McDonald's or Chuck E. Cheese or somewhere similar, you may also be able to purchase gift certificates to include in the birthday party favors bags. I also like to have a Helium-filled balloon for each child. It is a good idea to write their name on the balloon to avoid conflicts of ownership. And, depending on the age of the guest of honor, include a hand written note from you or the birthday child, thanking them for attending ( the note can be mass produced and generic).

If you know well in advance that your party will have a particular theme, the birthday party favors can be ordered on line. Many characters have a website and you can usually order what you need. Also, some companies have catalogs for bulk orders which will save quite a bit of money.

I believe the best rule of thumb, when purchasing Birthday Party Favors, is to remember that most party favors end up in the trash within 1-2 days.
