Party Girl

Party Invitations Do Not Come Easy. Make Sure You Attend when Invited

Sondra C
I was invited to a party
I was young and thin
and sexy as could be

My kids, who were younger
told me to wear
my new blue
hot-pants outfit.

I shrugged
and got it out of the closet
and put it on

I felt weird
This was more for the younger
women than for me
I had white boots
to wear as well

Oh me, I felt like a teen
with three young children
What should I do?
The kids all screamed
You go! mom! You look great

So I went
hey-they almost pushed me out of the door
hugged me
and told me to
have fun

I had never been to this place before
It was a house party that was
published in the local newspaper
It was getting dark
and I was not familiar with the area.

I arrived! whew! I rang the doorbell
and went inside
I bumped into a guy just leaving
He looked at me, smiled and stayed

We got to talking and eating and drinking
moderately I must say
He followed me around like a lost puppy
He liked me! it was obvious

It was time to go
I have no idea who else attended the party
He never left my side
He wanted to take me home
I said I had my car

He said he would follow me
to make sure I got home safe
and he did

A block away from my home
I told him it was OK for him to leave
I did not want him to see where I lived
I was trying to keep it safe

The next day he telephoned me
to tell me what a nice time he had
a year later we were wed

And that's the end of the story!
Up until this part anyway

sixteen years later - he died

Source an actual experience of how I met my late husband

This is exactly how I met my husband. Exactly to the word. I did not have a chance to meet another guy there as he stayed with me all night. It might have turned out differently - maybe-but a better husband and mate I never could have had.
