Party Themes: Bridal Shower Theme Ideas

Kitchen-Themed Bridal Shower
A bridal shower themed around the kitchen and cooking is sure to be a big hit. Consider having the guests help bring special homemade food and also provide the bride with a recipe for each dish or snack brought that can even be printed and bound as a starter cookbook. Guests can also bring gifts of items to be used in the kitchen, from pots and pans to towels to electric mixers and spatulas. To decorate your kitchen-themed bridal shower, artfully arrange kitchen appliances and tools as centerpieces, and have fresh fruit and vegetables on display.

Gardening and Spring Wildflowers Bridal Shower
If your bride enjoys gardening and is having her bridal shower in the spring, this is a great time to have a garden themed bridal shower. Pick some early spring wildflowers and press them and include one in each invitation (or if invitations are going out too early for that, try to find wildflower-related invitations). Decorate with fresh clutches of wildflowers in vases, small metal pails, and anything else you can find to put them in. Encourage your guests to come dressed in spring colors, which will make for some great photos, and have them bring garden-related gifts like shovels, clippers, gloves, edging, rakes, and even a wheelbarrow!

International-Themed Bridal Shower
If the bride or groom has family roots in a certain country, or if they are going to a special country for their honeymoon, you can base the bridal shower around that country. Decorate with that country's flag (or at least its colors) and photos from the country, and have authentic food from that country. Do some research on bridal traditions there and see if you can incorporate any of them into your bridal shower events and activities. For gifts, have guests bring travel-related items such as luggage or donations toward the honeymoon.

Tea Party Bridal Shower
If the bride enjoys tea, consider throwing a tea party bridal shower for her. To decorate, put flowers in teapots and consider asking the guests to each bring a favorite teapot to help serve a variety of teas at the bridal shower. Food items can include a lot of exotic teas and small and dainty snack sandwiches or crackers and other finger foods. Gifts can include electric kettles, specialty tea sets, different kids of teas, and storage and organization containers for tea bags or loose leaf teas.

Chocolate-Themed Bridal Shower
Women always love chocolate parties, and bridal showers are no exception. For a chocolate-themed bridal shower, your main task will be to have a lot of chocolate at the party. A good way to do this is to ask a few select guests who know the bride well to bring enough small servings of a chocolate-related dessert for every guest to get a piece. Your prizes for games can be small fancy chocolates, and if you want to go all out, you can have chocolate fondue fountains as centerpieces, with lots of fresh fruit for dipping. You can make chocolate-themed bridal shower invitations by including a small fancy chocolate (or just the wrapper if you're mailing them and want them to be flat) with the invitation.
