Party Wine Bottle Wrap

Wine Label Cover

Sure, you're going to show up with something when you arrive at the party. A bottle of wine is almost always appropriate and, after choosing just the right one, all you have left to do is decide on how you want to present it. You can always make or buy a cylindrical wine box, or wrap the bottle in a new dish towel, but for a cool party, wouldn't it be surprising to offer the bottle in a completely unsuspected manner? Let's do it!

Do you know how many different types of cloth, fun foam, scrapbook paper, and foils there are now? Are you kidding? Thousands? Millions? Instantly, with any one of them, you can create a most unusual bottle wrap. Make it simplistic, or take it to a wild extreme, and show up at the party with something noticeable and right on theme.

No matter what the theme of the party is you can compliment it with the bottle wrap. Use fabric, paper, wallpaper, contact paper, a really wide ribbon, or another material to make the wrap. When you put the wrap on the bottle, tape the first end down - on the back of the bottle, but do something slightly different on the last end. Use double-sided tape under the edge of that end to secure the label. That way, the host won't have to struggle with the wrap in order to remove it and view the wine label. It's much easier to get underneath the very edge to remove the label than it is to struggle with peeling a piece of tape off first. If you're using contact paper, use tape rather than peeling and sticking it to the bottle.

Once the wrap is in place go crazy with it. You can write on paper, fabric, or craft foam, using a paint marker or pen. You also have many choices for embellishing with small craft supplies. Glue on rhinestones, a playing card or two, foam sports ball shapes, tiny doll clothes, a photo, felt shapes, paper or foil cutouts, silk flowers, or even wooden shapes. With so many choices you can easily make the perfect wine wrap for a wedding, a ball game party, a birthday, or any other occasion.

The scrapbook aisle at your local craft store is a great place to find flat, decorative items that are perfect for creating the wine bottle wrap you desire. There, you'll find paper or foil pets, anchors, people, conversation bubbles, vehicles, and so much more.

Have fun creating just the perfect wine wrap for any occasion. The host or hostess will be intrigued about the label under the wrap but he or she will also end up with a keepsake from the party.
