This classic Los Angeles area eatery serves some of the best fried chicken, gravy, and waffles in the country. The Jeanne Jones omelet, a tasty blend of eggs, cheese, and fried chicken, is especially recommended. Though prices aren't nearly as cheap as they used to be, about $15 should provide a filling and delightful meal any time of day or night. There are multiple locations outside Pasadena as well for those venturing outside the city during their trip.

The portions are hearty and a gastronomically pleasing experience. In addition, they have a wide variety of cocktails, including chianti, mixed drinks, wines, beer, martinis, and cordials. One of their best appetizers is the fried calamari, which maintains tenderness without too much oil.

They are not only renowned across the state for their food, but their unique selection of more than 100 tequila and margarita libations. A tasty paella is available, and a number of salads and sandwiches suitable for all tastes offered during lunchtime.
