A local news station in the area, WJBF News Channel 6, started a program on May 4, 2010 called Pass It On. The program is airing every Tuesday night at 11pm and is hosted by John Lynn. People in the community have the opportunity to pass $300 to someone they know in need.

Many people realize when others have a need, but with hard economic times most are unable to help themselves. This is a fantastic opportunity to help another out when they need it most. Based on the video clips of this program, I do not think that the money is even the biggest blessing. To know that others see the need and are willing to help is a blessing in itself.

This program caught my attention when I saw a commercial on T.V. and one of the recipients looked like a girl that I used to work with, so of course I had to look it up to see what it was all about. As of today, there are 10 video clips of the recipients for the 'Pass It On' program.

The girl that I used to work with was nominated by one of her current co-workers because she stated that she had a need and was one of the hardest working people she had ever met. As a young mother with three kids and a husband without a job, she still keeps her spirits up and works hard. When it came time for her to be presented with her gift, the co-worker went on to say that she had been a wonderful friend, helped her on her days off, and provided food for her family when she did not have the means. What a beautiful spirit for this woman to help another out when it seems as if she could use the help herself as well. It was a nice moment that you almost feel guilty for witnessing due to the emotion involved. The recipient took the gift very thankfully and stated that it was an answered prayer because they did not know how they were going to survive the rest of the week.

The idea behind this is wonderful. How often have you wanted to help someone, but just couldn't? If given the opportunity, would you 'pass it on'?
