Passing Over and Through

Barbie Crafts
Ten plagues fell on Egypt so that Pharaoh would relent;
The people were in terror at the horrors that were sent.

Boils nor gnats nor frogs nor hail convinced him to back down;
The Nile began to flow with blood but Pharaoh held his ground.

The Hebrew people had cried out beneath their heavy load;
Their God Jehovah heard them from His heavenly abode.

The night He rescued Israel to Egypt's great surprise;
It happened all so suddenly the bread, it did not rise.

God sent an angel with the job of causing a distraction;
Each firstborn son of Egypt was found dead with no exception.

But Hebrew children, safe from harm, were rescued by the blood;
God had promised to pass over when He saw it by the door.

While all of Egypt mourned their loss, God's people slipped away;
But chariots soon pursued them to the water's edge, to say...

What will happen to them now? There was no where to flee!
Then their God held back the waves and they crossed The Red Sea!
