Passion is Power

Andrea Burchette
Passion is the brilliant light behind the sparkle in our eyes. Passion is the force that sparks fire in our lives. Passion drives us, motivates us, inspires us, and propels us forward in our greatest pursuits.

A person who is passionate about what they do and who they are can be recognized from afar. You are drawn to this person simply by the air of excitement exuding out of their body. A passionate person will, no doubt, excel in what he or she sets out to accomplish. The will of this person is stronger than any obstacle he will encounter. The sheer desire to reach a goal and to succeed in life's aspirations seems to force the universe to fall in line and cooperate, causing the most passionate ones to, without fail, succeed. It's simple, really. They see what they want, and deep love for what they want pushes them forward until the goal is realized.

If passion is what you lack, you will sadly stand still, complacent and unmoving from where you are right now, this minute, on into the rest of your life. If you find yourself without a passion for anything, you probably feel yourself stumbling through a dark, grey cloud of emptiness every day you wake up. You are bored with your life. You don't look forward to much. You feel no real reason to get out of bed in the morning. You probably hate your job, and as a result you find yourself miserable at least forty hours per week. You feel stuck, immobile, trampled down. You wonder if there is more to life than this.

Well, there is. Life can be far more than this.

Find something you love. Find something that is 'you', and cling to it. Make it your own. Be passionate about it, and draw that passion into other areas of your life. Make a goal of having at least one thing to look forward to and be excited about each and every day. It can be small things like a coffee date with a friend, or going to the book store to find a great, new read. I even look forward to my nightly cup of tea before drifting off to sleep. It can be silly things. It can be anything. Just find excitement in simple pleasures, and allow yourself to anticipate them and to enjoy them. You'll find what you are most passionate about by realizing what you look forward to the most.

Once you've found your passion, surround yourself with people you admire, people you want to be like, and most importantly, people who inspire you. Allow your life to be encompassed with passionate people; people who make you want to be better just by their mere presence.

Quit your job if you really hate it that much. Don't force yourself to be miserable the majority of every work day. Stop doing what you hate. Make it a goal to work within a passion of yours, and don't settle for anything that will make you less happy.

Our passions are what make us interesting as people. They are the driving force behind man's most ingenious inventions and masterpieces. Use your passion to lift you up and push you into new experiences. Use it to take you to new heights and to thrust you out of your comfort zone. Living a life without passion is meaningless, void and empty. So learn to be passionate. Be passionate about anything. Do what you love, and the feeling alone will cause you to soar above the clouds in whatever you strive after.
