Passover Equals Traditional Foods

Passover is around the corner. Therefore, that means eight days of mazto and brisket. Food is a very important part of Passover. The foods of Passover are yummy and they are fun to cook. Food and Passover go hand in hand. Food is what Passover means to me.

Matzo is a flat unleavened bread used during Passover. It can be eaten plain, with jam, or butter. It can be fried using eggs and oil. Then it is called fried mazto. This is my favorite way to eat matzo. Mazto is probably the most well-known Passover food.

I love to make and eat fried matzo during Passover. I eat at least four times and I eat it plain or with cinnamon on top of it. My mom likes to put jam on fried matzo. I learned to make fried matzo when I was 13 years old. Making fried matzo is a skill and in my family, there are people who are better at making fried mazto than others. However, we all have fun making this traditional Passover food.

Passover also means brisket. Brisket is roast beef. It is served with mashed potatoes and vegetables. Brisket tastes best when it is cooked with soe vegetables and much seasoning. Also, the longer the brisket is cooked, the better the brisket tastes. Brisket is a main course that can be eaten for eight days for lunch or dinner. Brisket can also be used as a Sedar main course, I usually cook a brisket for the two Passover sedars. Brisket equals a yummy Passover.

This year Passover is in March. So, that means matzo and brisket will be making many apperances on my dining room table. Passover means food to me. Therefore, I can't wait for the Passover feasts. Happy Passover.
