Children's Activities for Passover-Pesach

Maggie Ray
Passover -Pesach is an eight day Jewish celebration. Passover printable activities are excellent ways for children to learn about the Passover-Pesach traditions. Parents can use internet Passover printable activities for kids to teach about the holidays, or to add to fun celebrations. Many websites offer Passover kids printable activities, and some offer activities like word searches, crafts, and even printable copies of the Haggadah books. Passover for 2009 begins April 9, for 2010 on March 30, and for 2011 on April 19.

The text of the Seder is written in the Haggadah. A Haggadah Passover printable activity can be found on the Torah Tots website. Words related to the Haggadah are found in a word search here. Torah Tots has one of the most extensive on line sites for Passover printable activities. Kids will be pleased with many Passover coloring pages which come from TorahTots.com. Sixteen different coloring pages of the story are found here, along with 20 different Passover coloring pages of the Seder. Coloring pages of each of the plagues are offered on TorahTots.com. Also, for children actively in the electronic age, TorahTots.com also has Passover greeting card section for sending Passover cards via email.

If you want to use Passover printable activities as a part of your religious education experience for your children, you will need to know when the 15th of Nisan occurs. This tells you when the First Seder Pesach activity occurs and when other Pesach observations are. In 2009, the First Seder is the night of April 9 and the Eight Day of Pesach is on April 16th. Parents may want to choose a different Passover coloring page or printable activity for each day of the celebration.

Part of Pesach involves the cleaning of the Chametz. When studying this tradition, parents may include a printable Passover coloring page activity or even a Chametz maze (Search for the Chametz) as a fun way of presenting what Chametz is and why Pesach is the time for cleaning of Chametz. Passover printable activities related to Chametz are located here.

Homeschooling parents may find educational activities year round on the About.com Homeschooling website. About.com offers nine Passover printable activities including printable puzzles, door hangers for children's activities and Passover printable alphabet activities.

Three Passover coloring pages are available at Kaboose.com. Also on Kaboose, parents looking for printable word search activities will find three skill different levels using Passover words. More Passover coloring pages (Matzo, burning bush printable pictures and others) can be found at Thecolor.com. Moses and the 10 Commandments can be found here and eleven more Passover coloring pages are found at coloring.ws

Also, parents may consider on line Passover activities for educational emphasis. Interactive word searches, multiple choice quizzes, and word jumbles can be used in place of Passover printable activities by visiting this site.

Passover is a time of celebration and adding Passover coloring pages or printable activities will make the season of learning more enjoyable for your children.
