Pastor Issues 30 Day Sex Challenge

Froggy
Pastor Paul Wirth of the Relevant church in Ybor City , Florida issued a challenge to both his married and unmarried parishioners. To the married ones , he requested they have sex every day for 30 days. To the unmarried, he asked that they don't have sex at all for 30 days. The whole story can be observed here--

Maybe I am old-fashioned,but I am appalled that this pastor would request married couples to have sex every day for 30 days.He says he thinks it will help the divorce rate. I disagree!

I have been married for 25 years, and sex had nothing to do with it. I don't plan on going deep into my sex life, because that really doesn't matter here. Sex does not make a marriage; love and commitment do! If people would take those vows more serious it would mean a lot more.

My opinion is that pastors need to prepare people for marriage. There is no such thing as 50/50 in a marriage; both individuals must give 100% a piece.

So many people think the "grass is greener on the other side of the fence." It never is! No matter the marriage, there will be ups and downs. It is simple willpower to make your marriage work. Jumping in the sack once a day for thirty days just won't solve the problems.

Pastor Wirth at one time was a Baptist Preacher. I think as a Pastor, he needs to take a second look at what he is asking. He should work with the couples who are having problems. Show them ways of handling the problems. Explain to those couples what exactly they did when they made those vows; they not only made a promise to each other, they made a promise to God. Do they really want to break a promise to God?

Now on the part of unmarried not having sex, Pastor Wirth has that right! I believe they should go until married, not just for 30 days.

I think all in all, we need to turn some of the sex off. That is a major part of our problems. We have raping of women and molestation of children like has never been seen before. There are many more problems than having couples have sex to save their marriages. You have to work at having a strong marriage. Sex is NOT work!

I really hope Pastor Wirth reads this. Read Revelation's ; are you just telling your people what they want to hear? I say try a different approach, sex will not save a marriage.

Whether sex is work or not, might depend upon who is having sex with whom, lol. Sorry I couldn't resist that. I do agree with your point and enjoyed reading your opinion. Very well done. How did your area fair in the floods?
