Pat Robertson's Haiti Comments

America's False Prophet

Arrhod Shade
Pat Robertson, failed presidential candidate and host of the 700 Club, has made a mockery of the Christian faith for years with his outlandish and sometimes hateful comments. His latest horrid comments are regarding the devastation in Haiti.

Robertson spoke of the people of Haiti making a "pact with the devil" which has left them all "cursed" because of their dealings with the dark side. Robertson has also stated that Haiti's devastation could be a "blessing in disguise". There have been estimates that speculate a full third (1/3) of the total population of Haiti will be negatively affected by this earthquake and the estimates are 100,000 dead and/or missing with the numbers rising all every day.

How could this disaster, in any way imaginable, be a blessing? Hear it from his own lips on this video.

When Michael Rowe, contributor for The Huffington Post, went to update his Facebook page a few days ago, he thought "No...he wouldn't". He didn't think that even Robertson would use Haiti's disaster to spout more stupidity but realized he should have bet on "When" Robertson would stick his foot in his mouth and not "if" he would.

One person has taken Robertson's insensitivity and put it to good use for their own aid to Haiti. "Johnny voodoo" has utilized the Ebay auctions to raises money for Haiti by listing an auction for a "Pat Robertson Voodoo Doll" with ALL proceeds going to the International Red Cross. It is a very unique and humorous way to raise money for a very good cause.

The description of the doll is as follows;

"After an exclusive deal with devil, we are finally able to bring black magic into your very own home! The lucky winner of this auction will attain the soul of Televangelist PAT ROBERTSON in a handheld figurine comprised of the finest straw, cloth, and other organic natural materials!

Ever wanted to cause Pat Robertson a massive headache? give him back pain? jab him in the crotch? Of course you have! Well then BID NOW to own your very own pysical representation of the dark, dark soul of Pat Robertson.

Accessories included with the doll are Pat's very own "HOLY" BIBLE and BAG OF MONEY taken from real Americans! WOW!"

When you consider the ridiculous and often hateful words of Pat Robertson, you have to wonder what the scope is for the reactions to him. I found one such reaction that demonstrates exactly how ludicrous some people think Robertson to be and they have no problem showing it. You can find a "letter from Satan" to the controversial televangelist without too much effort...he should have known that he would get one eventually.

Normally you would not believe that a, supposed, "man of God" would harbor such wickedness but Pat Robertson has even called for the assassination of Venezuela's Hugo Chavez. What kind of "Spiritual Leader would even consider calling for a person...any person...to be murdered? Why would he involve himself in the politics of a sovereign foreign country, let alone, assert that if we had our Special Forces "take him out", the oil would not stop flowing?

Robertson has laid blame for Hurricane Katrina and even the 9/11/2001 attacks on Ellen Degeneres with statements such as;

"By choosing an avowed lesbian for this national event (2005 Emmy awards), these Hollywood elites have clearly invited God's wrath," Robertson said on "The 700 Club" . "Is it any surprise that the Almighty chose to strike at Miss Degeneres' hometown?"

Robertson also made a point to mention that shortly before Degeneres hosted the Emmys, in 2001, terrorists flew planes into the Twin Towers. His point, however hateful and convoluted, was that because a person was gay, the Lord sent hurricane Katrina to destroy New Orleans. Likewise gays, along with others that do not fit his "cookie cutter" Evangelical mold, are the reasons for the 9/11/01 attacks on the U.S.

How much more subversion of Christianity is this country going to tolerate before Robertson is dismissed as a fruitcake?

For years, Robertson has made a public spectacle of himself with his hate filled, bigoted rhetoric. He blamed gays, liberals, the ACLU and others he disagrees with for 9/11. He has called natural disasters "God's punishment" because of those who do not live within his Evangelical guidelines. The religion that has afforded him so much luxury while many Americans do without has been turned inside out and corrupted at his own hands, yet he continues to put his foot in his mouth...sometimes both feet at the same time.

In another clear example that Robertson is bigoted against gays, otherwise know as homophobic, he was caught on camera during a commercial break on the Larry King Show referring to one of the callers as a "Homo"

Robertson has made a mockery of Christianity and the Bible, caused extremism among the Evangelicals groups in America and helped to make the target America's back bigger than it was in the first place. He is everything that a good Christian should not be, spreading hatred, bigotry and unmerited accusation. He is the epitome of what I was taught about the "Anti Christ", making me glad that I am NOT part of those who believe in such things.

If there ever was such a thing as a false prophet, Pat Robertson is one.

    Pat Robertson has always been a moron, and the most 'unChristian' person I've ever seen. He's one that will burn in hell, if such a place exists, that's for sure :-) Nice article!
