Patience for the Lord

I have been struggling with patience for a very long time, many years, in fact. If I just had patience, I wouldn't get upset for the many reasons I do. Here are just a few things that upset me a lot: If I have to wait too long in line at the grocery store, if someone who is supposed to be picking me up is late, if my dog takes too long outside, even at times when my food doesn't cook fast enough. That is just some of the little things that upset me, as you can see I say little things.

Thankfully, I have learned recently that there is no reason to be upset for these matters or small things that I have no control over. I especially need to follow these few Bible verses and live my life for the Lord. I know he will give me the strength to have patience in all matters of my life if I allow him. The greatest part is by having patience I will receive the utmost success and happiness.

"I waited patiently for the LORD; he turned to me and heard my cry." Psalm 40:1

"Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, waiting patiently for it until it receives the early and latter rain" (James 5:7).

"But those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint."(Isaiah 40:31)

"A hot-tempered man stirs up dissension, but a patient man calms a quarrel." (Proverbs 15:18)

"And we urge you, brothers, warn those who are idle, encourage the timid, help the weak, be patient with everyone." (1 Thessalonians 5:14)

Patience is a virtue so let us all practice patience as the Lord wants us to so we can all reap the rewards.
