The good news, as reported by E! online, is that Swayze's pancreatic cancer appears to have been caught early, despite dramatic reports to the contrary. Dr. George Fisher, Swayze's personal physician told E! that he has a small amount of cancer and is "responding well to treatment so far."
The National Enquirer broke the story on their website with the false information that Patrick Swayze had only five weeks to live and had already lost 20 pounds. According to Swayze's doctor there is littletruth to the National Enquirer's story.
Pancreatic cancer is among the most aggressive of cancers, but Swayze's doctor assures the public that the information regarding his impending death is not true, nor are Patrick Swayze's side effects as dire as have been reported. Pancreatic cancer is seldom caught early, which increases its deadliness.
Both Patrick Swayze's mother and rep affirm that while Swayze has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, but he is doing well and continuing with life and work as usual. According to a Fox News report, Swayze's representative said Swayze's prognosis is good.
Patrick Swayze is a native of Houston, Texas. He is a successful actor and dancer who has been married to Lisa Niemi since 1975.
Patrick has battled and overcome alcoholism and survived a plane crash. He has a track record of good health and success. Since his January 2008 diagnosis he has been receiving treatments at Stanford University Medical Center. Fans and well-wishers hope to see Swayze pull through this cancer and treatment well.
