Patriotic Decorating Color Ideas for July 4th

July 4th is fast approaching and it is a time for celebrating the Independence Day and showing your patriotism. A random act of kindness to our fellow beings will be a great way to keep up with the spirit of the day. Use the following tips to brighten up you patriotic fervor with the colors of our flag - red, white and blue

Patriotic feast: Just add a few drops of edible blue and red dyes to white frosting cream and using it to ice a cake. Some specialty bakeries may even bake one if you place an order. You can even color white ice-cream, slice and place the adjacent colors in a decorative pattern like the flag and decorate it with nuts. Just extend the idea to jellies, puddings, etc. and you get a range of patriotic feasts.

Patriotic screen savers: At least a week prior to July 4th, display the red, blue and white colors of the flag on your computer - use patriotic themes as your screensaver and desktop backgrounds. Many sites like Coolscreens offer free downloads of the wallpapers and screensavers. That way you will remind yourself and those who peep into your screen of our ties to our nation.

Patriotic Flags Everywhere: Do not forget to fly a flag outside your home. You can tuck one in your car, have one in your cubicle in your workplace and one even in your study. Distribute lapel pins to people in your neighborhood and spread the spirit of patriotism.

Patriotic Apparel: Deck yourself on Independence Day in blue, red and white. You do not have to buy new apparel for July 4th - just mix and match your clothes to display the right colors. If you plan to have a family gathering, plan of a blue-red-white dress color code.

Patriotic Greeting Cards: Send out patriotic greeting cards wishing a Happy Independence Day to your family and friends - reminding them of their love for the country and the sacrifices of many.

Patriotic Arts for Kids: Organize games or a competition for kids - encourage them to use only red, blue and white to draw and paint pictures or make artwork from paper or cloth. Teach them the values of patriotism and independence while letting them have fun and explore their artistic skills.

Patriotic Decorations: You can cut out red, blue and white tassels from paper and hang them but your windows or in your garden. You can also hand colored bulbs to light up the eve of Independence Day.

Patriotic Charity: This July 4th reach out to the less fortunate people in our society - gift them some patriotic merchandise like T-shirts or jewelry. Instill love for the nation in their hearts and do not forget the spirit behind the colors.
