It is official, the verdict is in, and the winning Super Bowl XLII pick is New England Patriots vs the New York Giants. New England was able to wrack in a perfect season, one for the record books, while the Giants shocked Green Bay with a win in overtime! Two seat wrenching games were played last night, leaving us with the final standings for the Super Bowl come February 3rd.

Last night the New England Patriots (16-0-0) were victorious over the San Diego Chargers (11-5-0), winning the AFC Championship and advancing to the super bowl. New England's 21 points score over San Diego 12 points, held on to their perfect season; the first ever in NFL history. While the game was fairly close in the stats, Patriots with total net yards of 347, Chargers with 311 yards, the Patriots were the ones to make the yards count. Brady passed for 209 yards with a total of 22 passes out of 33 attempts. In addition Brady threw two touchdown passes and three interceptions. Chargers intercepted Brady 3 times, yet still lost; the strength of the Patriots is what sets them above.

Back in Green Bay, where the more action packed game of the two was played, the New York Giants upset the Green Bay packers with a win in over time. Even with the 4 degree below zero temperature at the Green Bay stadium the giants were able to secure their win of the NFC Championship and advance into the super bowl. Eli Manning and his team blew away Brett Favre and his crew in yardage with a total of 380 net yards over the Packers 264. The difference in the yardage was due to the excellent rushing game of the Giants. New York rushed for 134 yards to Green Bays miserable 29. Manning's and Favre's passing yards were close; however Manning still was able to out through the legend of Brett Favre. The giants bring their season to and end at 10-6 and find them selves a spot in the super bowl.

With the verdict of Super bowl 42 in, what could be the outcome? Will the New England Patriots go on to fulfill a perfect season by securing the Super Bowl?
Or will they face an upset by New York Giant underdogs? One thing is for sure, Super Bowl XLII in Arizona this 3rd will be one hell of a game.
