Paul Howard Productions Presents "Sauce" a Dark Comedy Short
'Sauce'(verb): To Make Agreeable or Less Harsh
The idea of 'Sauce' came about in a funny way actually. My business partner Corey Joseph and I would frequent the Taco Bell drive thru's. After getting home with the food, I would find that I hadn't been given enough hot sauce. I'd always go into some tirade about how they never give me enough sauce. Corey and I started talking about how it could become a good script idea.
Thus the very basic idea of the script for 'Sauce' was born.
Could you tell me something about the film?
'Sauce' is a dark comedy short that I would describe as neurotic people,
who don't know their neurotic, in boring lives, feeling like their voices
aren't heard and striving to be heard. The short has a lot of irony in it
since most of the characters are victims of their own shortcomings.
Who was responsible for writing the script?
The script was written by Corey Joseph and I. We did a lot of brainstorming before we even sat down to write a word. This helped us to flesh out a lot of ideas and get the details laid out.
Will "Sauce" be entered in any film festivals?
The film will premiere sometime early next year. We hope to have a really great premiere with industry folks, a sponsor, and a few other shorts to round out the evening. Details will be released as they are presently locked down. I will definitely keep you in the loop so you can hopefully attend.
We will also submit the short for one year to the various festivals. Our goal is to get lots of exposure for it and the crew and cast involved with it. We would love for it to play various places and are currently looking into various other arenas for screenings. We'll keep everyone posted on those details!
What at the locations where the film was shot?
The movie was filmed in Hollywood, Santa Monica, and Los Angeles. The majority of the movie takes place at Reliable Insurance.
Is "Sauce" a short or full length feature?
The movie is classified as a dark comedy short and will most likely run about 14 minutes. We are very excited since the movie was shot using theGenesis Camera, which to our knowledge has never been used for a short. The camera is most famously known for being used to shoot the newest Superman movie. The camera has an amazing HD clarity, and will hands down look more impressive (quality-wise)then most.
Would you happen to ahve a web site for my readers?
Our website, www.saucethemovie.com is currently under construction but should be up and running within the month. We will also be launching a full trailer in the near future. The teaser trailer is currently available on www.MySpace.com and www.Youtube.com.Additionally we will be releasing information on the premiere, festival screenings and other information on the website.
Thank you very much for the wonderful interview Paul and keep up the great work!
