Paul Reiser's Internet Death, Matt Dillon and Charles Barkley Behaving Badly and Gina Glocksen's Wedding

Sarah F. Sullivan
I'm not sure what happened last night. Perhaps the stars aligned in such a way that made everyone, including technology, lose their heads. First, 30GB Zunes all over the world committed suicide. Then someone attempted to kill Mad About You's Paul Reiser and Matt Dillon and Charles Barkley got arrested. Oh yeah, and one of the singers from American Idol is getting married.

Paul Reiser's Death?

Early this morning, the former Mad About You star's Wikipedia page was edited to include his death. The problem? He's not dead. According to E! Online, the amended biography stated:

"On December 27th, 2008, Reiser was discovered dead in the Squallahassee River where he reportedly enjoyed fly fishing. No foul play was suspected."

It is unclear how long the entry had been posted. However, less than two hours after it was spread around the Internet by concerned fans, the passage and Reiser's supposed date of death was removed. No word on where the Squallahassee River is either. Obviously the fly fishing is good, though.

Reiser isn't the first person to have been assumed dead via Internet. Recent Internet reported deaths have included Miley Cyrus and Tom Cruise.

Matt Dillon Plays Speed Racer

E! Online reported that Crash star Matt Dillon was arrested by the Vermont State Police Tuesday night. The perpetually furrowed-faced actor was arrested for excessive speeding in Newbury, Vt. after police clocked him going 106 mph in a 65-mph zone.

The 44-year-old actor will appear in Vermont's Orange County Court January 21st for the charge.

Charles Barkley? A DUI?

Unfortunately, this one is true. The Associated Press reported that the former NBA star and Basketball Hall of Fame Inductee was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving after police spotted him running a stop sign early Wednesday morning. 45-year-old Barkley was given a blood test, processed, cited and released, leaving in a cab.

I suppose we shouldn't be too worried about it. After all, Barkley said in the 90s that he shouldn't be regarded as a role model just because he's an athlete.

Gina Glocksen Getting Married Today

In order to end on a good note, American Idol Season Six top 10 finalist, Gina Glocksen, is planning to marry her longtime boyfriend today. People Magazine reported that Season Six contestants Haley Scarnato and Jordin Sparks are bridesmaids in the wedding.

Glocksen met her betrothed in 2005 after auditioning to sing with his cover band. Joe Ruzicka proposed to her in 2007 at a concert in Rosemont, Ill. where Glocksen and several other top 10 Idol contestants were performing.

Though it's likely that only true Idol fans will know exactly who Glocksen and Scarnato are right off the bat, a wedding is always a good thing to report.

Here's hoping that some of the above were just blowing off some steam before the New Year. However, if the above news is a sign of what the coming year's going to be like, hold on to your hats.
