Paula Abdul to Leave American Idol?

The Future of American Idol

K.M.
Recently, Paula Abdul did an interview about her future on American Idol. When the interviewer asked if she would be renewing her contract with American Idol, her response was her future on the program is uncertain.

American Idol has been on the air for eight years and during the last eight years the public has embraced her. We look forward to what she wears and what she has to say. Some of us remember the good old days when Paula was a staple on the radio and the topic of discussion in gossip magazines. Who's she dating? When's her next album coming out? People flocked to her because of her uniqueness, talent for dance and soft sensitive personality. The girl next door, someone girls all over the world wanted to emulate.

Paula Abdul has been a part of our lives since 1987 when "Forever Your Girl" hit the airwaves. Her short stature and petite figure could out dance anyone and her tenacity to be #1 made her dreams come true. So, what will the future of American Idol be without Paula?

Paula Abdul, Randy Jackson and Simon Cowell are American Idol. Each of them contributes something important to the program and if one of them is gone, how will the show maintain its popularity? If Paula were not a part of the program, would you keep watching?

The thought of Kara "replacing" Paula is absurd. Kara lacks the personality and vivaciousness that Paula exudes. Kara is a bit too wrapped up in herself and frankly doesn't add much of anything to the program. Paula on the other hand brings emotion to the program, emotion that the contestants need and the public craves. Paula gives the program balance and without her presence, the show would never be the same.

The public love Paula, Randy and Simon, but the votes aren't counted with regard to Kara. Hopefully, Paula will consider staying on and renewing her contract. One would also hope that the network make it worth her while with a fat raise. There is a need to appease the audience and keeping Paula on board should be their number one concern.

Paula has made it known that she wants to move onto other projects and with her newest album in the works, it may not be plausible for her to do both. If Paula decides to focus on other projects the public will understand, but Idol will never be the same...
