Paula Abdul's Pain Killer Addiction
Paul Abdul Goes on the Record and Finally Admits She Had a Problem
On the April 23rd episode of Nightline Cynthia McFadden interviewed Paul Abdul. During the interview she flat out denied she was ever addicted to any medications. She told Cynthia "I will not take those drugs and you can check my medical records. There is nothing like that. I was never on Oxycontin or vicodin or anything like that". Abc did try to talk to Paula's doctors as she offered during the interview but, Paul Abdul changed her mind and declined their request. You can watch part of the interview on the abc website.
Paula Abdul is one of the many stars who have struggled with addiction.
Rush Limbaugh shocked the world when he admitted to being addicted to painkillers in 2003. He became addicted following a back surgery he had.
Kelly Osbourne admitted she too was addicted to painkillers and prescription medications. She told People magazine she first tried liquid Vicodin when she was only 13 years old. Kelly liked the feeling and became addicted. Kelly Osbourne went through rehab a few times and now says she is no longer using drugs.
Painkiller addiction is a real problem in Hollywood and throughout middle America. It is not only stars that are addicted to prescription medication. Soccer moms, teacher, doctors and lawyers are not immune for becoming addicted. Rehab centers throughout the world now have programs designed to help people kick the prescription painkiller habit.
