The Internet is a helpful tool as much as it could be a harmful tool. Here is a story of a young man who we will call George. George was financially strapped and could not keep up with his bills. So, George turned to the Internet for a short term loan. He of course thought that this would be the best way to do this. He was unaware that there are some dangers in doing business this way.
He found a website with CashnetUsa.com They had approved his loan and the funds were transferred accordingly. At this point things were going well. He was happy with the Internet. Which Internet does provide services conveniently.
About a month later this payday loan was paid the money was taken out of his account and all was well with the world. He thought everything was done once they got his money.
Wrong, about a month later he started getting phone calls from an unknown number that he did not recognize and the numbers kept changing. At first he was ignoring them. After awhile he was getting perturbed with them so he answered. It was a man with an Arabian accent and very heavy. He could not even understand a word the man said. The man started asking him personal questions about him and told him that CashnetUsa.com had filed charges of fraud against him and he had all the information that was given to the CashnetUsa.com on the application. He did not give out any information or verify the information. George began to ask the man to fax him the charge and he would call him back to verify this information and the man absolutely refused he said that was "not company policy."
Let me tell you if there is any type of legal action against you they should be able to send you something in writing. That is the purpose of subpoena's. Most creditors send you letters in writing first so you have the right to dispute the bill or not.
He got so frustrated with this man that he hung up on him. He then tried to call back on the number that showed up on his caller id. But to his shock the message that was given was" the verizon number has been disconnected or changed." He felt just shocked. So his next step was to call CashnetUsa.com and when he spoke to them they new about this man. They told George that this Pakistani man has been calling all their clients and that they were informed that a hacker hacked into their files and got personal information on their clients. They filed a charge and are investigating this to the fullest. They have advised him not to give out any information to this gentleman.
At the same time he was advised that his bank card with visa had notified them that his card number was on a list of cards that was hacked into. The visa bank card had been replaced 3 times. This is quite scary but beware it does happen. Do not think it cannot happen to you cause it can.

Post a CommentYes this keeps happening to me. After trying the approach of telling these idiots that I know they are scammers, and getting into an argument with them about how stupid they are, which failed miserably. I finally decided just to go along and play the game; with the excpetion of the end which conceeds me to going to jail or showing up in court somewhere like NY. You should all free to use my lawyer's name Peter Rainhill and his phone # of 655-555-5555. good luck. My calls are getting fewer and fewer with this approach.
I wonder what would happened if i contacted NBC dateline about this
The same thing is happening to me. Kept getting these weird phone numbers calling my cell, no one would be there when I answered. Then after a few days my cell phone would ring but the only that showed up was 00000, ofcourse I answered. It was a guy with Indian accent saying he was from the Federal Crime Investigations or something and that I had legal actions taken against me for a payday loan. After a minutes and me getting very frustrated I yelled at the man and hung up. He then proceeded to call my work.He called my work number yelling at me saying all kinds of things were gonna happen to me, I hung up again. He called my work at total of 10 TIMES, even yelling at one of my coworkers. Finally he stopped, hopefully this will be the end of his phone calls.
I have been getting these calls for quite a while. They come and go and they are all the same. Call me a racist, but they all seem to be from the middle east. THey can go to hell for all I care!
yes i got this phone call yesterday, an indian woman saying she was from the "federal crime invesitgation department" and that i borrorowed $350 and didnt pay it back i would be arrested, and that i had the option to "resolve" it by paying $253 dollars, a "settlement" on their part, i laughed at her and hung up the phone.
Keep getting these scam calls at work, home, and cell telling me I owe money when I don't them at all
So true I had this happen to me yesterday. I had a call from an unknown number while I was at work. The caller called my cell I answered. I thought it was someone trying to seel me some BS so i hung up. Then they called my work phone I didnt answer so they left a voicemail, and they called my cell again. All three times the number were different. The person left a number on the voicemail but when I tried calling it asked for a pin and never transfered me to a operator. Later that day I got another call the person then (in a really heavy Indian accent) tried to say I got a loan in Dec 2009.Now alomst a year and I never got anything from the the actually company? Com'on!! He wouldnt give me the actual name of the company I supposdly owed the money to or the exact amount I borrowed. It was SCAM written all over it!
this is happenig, try to get as much info as you can and file a complaint with the federal trade commission and what ever you do don't give any of your information and request anything they say in writing...
WHAT DO YOU DO I THIS IS HAPPENING TO YOU? THIS IS A GREAT STORY, AIS HAPPENING TO ME DOWN TO THE T- CHANGE THE NAME FROM GEORGE TO MINE AND IT IS THE SAME STORY!!
