It is so hard to have a wedding when you do not have any money. Yes of course you could just go to the justice of the peace but in my case that is not how i pictured my wedding day.
As a little girl I have always dreamed about having my father walk me down the aisle on my wedding day and getting married in a church and having bridesmaids and groomsmen and ringbearer. But to my surprise 2 days before my wedding day I called my father and got told he will not walk me down the aisle and will not attend my wedding. So yes it was hurtful but you cannot pick your family.
So I finally got married on September 22 of this year on my husbands birthday. We have been happily married now for 6 months and a life time to go. I know how hard it is to not have help paying for your wedding. It is very hard to pay for your wedding yourself.
We Had to take out a credit card with a 5,000 dollar limit on it so we could pay for our wedding. It seems like a lot of money this 5,000 dollars but when you get done paying for whatever you have to for your wedding then it is nothing but money gone in the wind.
My husbands dad was a big help to our wedding he is the one that bought my dress. If it weren't for him I would not have had a wedding gown. So I owe a lot to my father in law.
Wedding's are a big step in your life and for me I was only going to do it once. I made sure I told my husband that too. I told him when he proposed to me that I do not believe in divorces so he is in it for the long haul. We got married too. So that says it all.
I just hope when my sister gets married in August, that she is as happily married as I am right now. I wish only the best for my sister and as she does for me. So far, and I know this will always remain the same, I am as happy as I have ever been.
