Battlefield 2142 brings nothing to the experienced Battlefield veteran players. For them the game will be quite the usual stuff but with less thrill as the predecessors of the Battlefield arena. Battlefield 2142 just comes with too much too soon. And is not as packed as Battlefield 2, which saying had an immense success will just be an understatement. The new Battlefield itself is based on the game engine of B2.
The Battlefield universe evolved during the years and with Battlefield 2142 a new era has been opened. We suddenly find ourselves in futuristic battles, taking from where Battlefield 2 stopped. The new guns and ammo sure are very FUN. So fun that you won't want to let and will continue to play over and over again. There are two clans in the game: The PAC and EU. Players can choose be either of the following: engineer, support, assault or recon.
The game was designed primarily for multiplayer supporting a maximum of 64 players on one server and allows AI (artificial intelligence) bots in single player mode for 16 players simultaneously. It has its own ranking system to keep track of the user's stats similar to the one used in its predecessor. It does though open a new field not seen in the latter - that of vehicles. Battlefield 2142 has an unlock system allowing the player to choose a new unlock every time they rank rather than making them purchase the item. EA has also released an expansion pack which contains new maps, weapons, and armies. The game comes packed with unique and thrill-filled maps amounting to a total of 13. Once you are in, you have no way till you win or lose.
As soon as you get the hang of the game, you will be completely into it. And experimenting with the new toys is even more rewarding till you don't blow yourself up. The music background will keep your adrenaline flowing, though I have to admit EA and DICE have missed on this one as B2's soundtrack is way more deep, and you just be guided by your urge to protect your team members and kill the bloody opponents.
Get your gears packed up and ready for combat, B2142 is an overall good game for new and a new experience for the old. The only thing is that you should have a damn fast broadband internet connection to be able to enjoy the Multiplayer section fully, but despair not, the single player has its benefits too...See for yourself, go and try it. Its worth it.
