I walk down the street,
Ol' Mrs. Royce is out gardening.
Her grandchildren toss the football,
And I feel no tension.
Oh, this peace is a dove
That flies up high.
Look! There's a ship in the clouds!
There's a cross in the sky!
In the following lawn there's a picnic.
A family of five
Enjoying the sunshine,
Watching the butterflies,
A white boy and a black boy
Play cars on the sidewalk,
Their parents by their cars,
Enjoying a pleasant talk.
America is calm and fighting no wars,
We'll enjoy time like this, and many more.
