Peace Cereal Golden Honey Granola Review

I Really Enjoyed This Granola and Enjoy Supporting the Peace Cereal Company

It has been awhile since I bought any cereal. A while back I found some awesome back-to-back sales that allowed me to try a lot of different cereal types and brands of cereals. One of the brands that I found, although if I remember correctly it was not on sale, was Peace Cereal. I loved this brand very much and wanted to keep my eyes out for more of their cereals. The other day while grocery shopping I did just that and it paid off because I noticed a bright yellow cereal box with the word new on it. The cereal was Peace Cereal Golden Honey Granola and I happily placed it in to my cart and went off to finish my shopping.

The reason that I wasn't as concerned about getting the previous Peace Cereals that I did before on sale was because of the company. The Peace Cereal Golden Honey Granola happen to be on sale for three dollars, about thirty cents cheaper than what the cereals usually are, so that was an added bonus. When comes to grocery shopping I will try and save every penny that I can if I can still get great organic foods. Normally I wouldn't have been attracted to getting a honey granola as I am not that big of a fan of overly honey flavored of granola with a lot of honey but again I really enjoyed supporting the company. The Peace Cereal company donates ten percent of their profits to fund Peace Cereal Grants and to sponsor International Peace Prayer Day. I was happy to support this, plus the previous cereals from the company all had wonderful nutrition and ingredients so I also felt really good about eating them.

Previously I had tried four other cereals from this company. The cereals were their Organic Maple Pecan Cereal, Organic Raspberry Ginger Cereal, Organic Essential 10 Cereal and their Organic Vanilla Almond Cereal. As I mentioned before all of these cereals had great nutrition and ingredients. The Peace Cereal Golden Honey Granola also had some wonderful ingredients. Organic rolled oats, organic evaporated cane juice, organic crisp rice made of organic rice flour, organic evaporated cane juice, organic barley malt syrup and salt, organic oat flour, organic expeller pressed canola oil, organic molasses, organic flaxseeds, organic honey, natural flavor and sea salt make up this granola. I thought that these ingredients looked very, very nice. I as happy to see that honey was one of the last ingredients because it meant that the granola probably would not taste overwhelmingly with honey flavor.

I made a bowl of the granola after reading the ingredients and a bowl for my son as well. My son lately really loves granola, he is two, and so when he saw my bowl he just had to have some. We both thought that the Peace Cereal Golden Honey Granola tasted really good. I thought that the flavor was not too sweet and that the honey flavor was not too overwhelming. The overall taste of the granola turned out to be rather good. As I mentioned above good nutrition comes with these good Peace Cereals so I looked of the nutrition facts of the granola. The nutrition facts were based off of two-thirds of a cup of granola. In that serving size there was two hundred and forty calories with sixty calories from fat, one hundred and twenty milligrams of sodium, forty grams of carbohydrates, six grams of protein, eleven grams of sugars and four grams of fiber. Honey is high in sugars and sugar is the second ingredient listed so the amount of sugars was not surprisingly high to me. In addition the nutrition facts listed calcium with two percent and iron with ten percent. Overall these nutrition facts were very, very good.

It didn't take me a long time to determine if I wanted to get Peace Cereal Golden Honey Granola again. I knew after that first bowl that it was a granola that both me and my son could enjoy. I definitely have tasted other granola cereals that were less sweet that I preferred but I can't help but feel good about supporting this company. At the end of the day I would likely choose this granola over another unless it was considerably cheaper and I liked the taste of it more. I would recommend for anyone to give this granola a try. If granola is not really your thing I would highly recommend trying something else from the Peace Cereal brand, because supporting them is supporting a very good cause.
