Peace Symbol Birthday Party Ideas

Angela W. La Fon
The popular peace symbol of the 1960's never left the radar but fifty years later, it is certainly making a big comeback. Kids are donning their peace symbol shirts, jewelry, backpacks and more. This peace symbol is popular with both girls and boys. It makes a fun theme for a birthday party for tweens or teenagers. Need ideas for a peace symbol birthday party or even back to school party?

This peace symbol cake is really a "piece of cake."

Peace Symbol Cake Supplies:

  • 1 box of cake mix or ingredients for your own homemade cake recipe
  • 1 or more round cake pans
  • Light colored icing
  • Food coloring
  • 1 tube of dark writing icing

Directions:

A peace symbol is super easy because it begins with a round cake pan with as many layers as you desire. It's also flexible because you can use any color icing for the background or better yet use food coloring to create separate three colors like blue, pink and yellow and "marble" them for a "tie dye" look.

Next add an outer ring and a line down the center from top to bottom. Now from the center, add a diagonal line from the right and left. Use black or any darker color like dark green so that the peace symbol is prominent.

Try this "Keep the Peace" six-layer salad for your party buffet.

Peace Party Salad Ingredients:

  • Shredded lettuce
  • Shredded cheese
  • Refried beans
  • Salsa
  • Sour cream
  • Black olives
  • Tortilla chips

Directions:

Layer the first five ingredients in a round bowl ending with a smooth layer of sour cream on top. Arranged the black olives into the peace symbol on top. Place the bowl in the center of a tray with tortilla chips and keep those rumbling teen tummies at peace.

Give peace a chance with this twist on the classic PB&J.

Open Faced Peanut Butter & Jelly Peace Sandwich Ingredients:

  • Whole wheat bread
  • Large round cookie cutter
  • Peanut butter
  • Squeezable jelly

Directions:

Cut slices of bread with a large round cookie cutter and spread with peanut butter. Use squeezable jelly to create the peace symbol on these fun open faced party sandwiches.

Birthday Party Express has everything to make a Peace Party success.

Birthday Party Express has peace symbol invitations, banners, removable wall stickers and more.

They also have cool peace party favors like tie dyed bandannas, light up peace yo-yos, peace sunglasses and peace change purses.

My favorite peace party gift idea is the Peace Autograph Pillow Case. It comes with a marker so all of the party guest can sign this special party keepsake.
