Peaceful Mind, Peaceful Body, Peaceful Spirit

A Guide to Living Peacefully in the World

Theresa
How are you feeling mentally, physically, and spiritually today? It is a difficult concept for some to grasp, but your state of mind, body, and spirit affects the state of the entire world.

Many of us are convinced that we are not really important. That the things we say and do don't really matter. That we are too insignificant to really change the world. It turns out that we are wrong.

Quantum physicists have determined that our mere presence or absence has an impact on the outcome of a situation. Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principle states that sub-atomic particles act differently when they are observed from when they are not. This means that your simple existence affects everything around you. Is that effect negative or positive?

Your state of mind and your thoughts determine your actions, which can determine the state of the planet, whether you realize it or not. It may seem like science fiction, but it has now been scientifically proven that we are all surrounded and connected via an invisible morphic field. The thoughts and feelings that you send out into that field can make a difference to someone that you have never met thousands of miles away. If your thoughts and actions are peaceful ones, this can result in peace for our planet. If your thoughts and feelings are angry, hurt, envious, hostile or hateful, the state of world will reflect that.

If you think that your actions are insignificant, consider the following: chaos theory suggests that the flapping of a butterfly's wings in South America can generate wind currents which eventually result in a monsoon in Asia.

How can you cultivate peace of mind, physical peace, and spiritual peace?

Meditation is the best place to start for peace of mind. It not only eliminates worries, helps one to relax while at the same time feel more energetic and focused.

Physical exercises like yoga and Feldenkrais are ideal for putting your body into a peaceful state. Yoga has many different forms, from hatha to Iyenger to Ashtanga, but they all accomplish the same goal of fostering inner peace. Feldenkrais helps one to undo harmful physical habits developed in childhood like clenching one's jaw or tightening one's back muscles when stressed.

A Course in Miracles is a mind training program that removes the blockages to spiritual peace. It can takes or seemingly work overnight. It is a great path for those of us raised with addictions or in dysfunctional families.

If you resolve every day to make the world a better place by simply starting with yourself, your mind, body and spirit will appreciate it. And because of the impact it will have on your friends, co-workers, and acquaintances, so will the rest of humanity.
