Peach Cobbler

Fall Favorites

Jessaka Romine
There are a few recipes I have been using since I was a teenager. I know them by heart. One of my favorites is the peach cobbler recipe. My family has always used it, and my kids love it. I don't know exactly where it came from, but it's quick, easy, and delicious. When Fall rolls around, this is the first dessert I make to eat while it's fresh and hot. It also goes well with ice cream.

Ingredients:

1 cup sugar
1 cup self-rising flour
1 cup milk (evaporated milk may be substituted)
1 T. cinnamon (optional)
1 stick of butter
1 can of peaches

Directions:

1) Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.

2) Spray 9 x 14 baking dish. Place teaspoons of butter in bottom of dish. I place them approximately 3 inches apart.

3) In mixing bowl, combine sugar, flour, and milk. Mix until smooth. Add cinnamon, if desired.

4) Slowly pour batter over butter in dish. Drop peaches into the batter one at a time.

5) Bake approximately 30 minutes or until golden brown.

Note: This recipe can be doubled and baked for an hour or until golden brown, if desired.
