One peach vodka recipe (without orange juice) piqued my curiosity because one ingredient sparked another old memory.
Ingredients
1 part Galliano
5 parts Peach Vodka
3 parts Lemon Juice
1 part Syrup of Roses
Shake well and serve in a cocktail glass
I didn't know what Galliano was by the name but when I found it on www.galliano.com I instantly recognized the bottle... from my mother's living room. For years, Mom was a waitress at an upscale restaurant and whenever the bartender finished a bottle of Galliano, he let mom take it home. She filled it with colored water and set it on the shelf in her living room. House Beautiful, maybe not. Sixties décor, definitely. Galliano was used to make Harvey Wallbangers, a popular drink in the fifties and sixties. But again, I digress.
I made the Gagliardo sans the rose syrup because I couldn't find it in the supermarket, but even without it, the blended flavors of peach vodka, and the Galliano flavor of anise, and vanilla were interested and very tasty.

Post a CommentMy that sounds absolutely yummy--thanks for sharing! Now that I think of it, you're right, most drink recipes include orange juice. But I love anything that's peach-flavored, almost more than peaches themselves! (Also always use peach air freshners in my car.) What I really love is your writing style!
