Peacock Jersey Color Block Shirt Dress

Hmmm... so I don't really know about this A.B.S. shirt dress. It seems a little pricey and yet it's really not that flattering. I think this dress was designed for really skinny girl's that have no meat on their bones! So, that is probably why Ashley Simpson can pull of this dress so well.

This is a three toned dress. I like the color combo of this dress I have never tried this color combo before, but I think I may now. The colors are peacock, black and white. Just so you know the peacock color is like a soft blue with touch of a gray under tone. The whole three tone thing is really an Ashley Simpson thing because it brings and edginess to the dress which is what Ashley Simpson likes.

The overall color of the dress is peacock. However on the sides of the dress from under the armpits to about the hips the other colors begin to show up. The first blocked color is black and then the next block is white that kind of swings out on both sides. When I say swings out that means it flairs out beyond the side of the dress and partially shows up going towards the front the dress.

I think what A.B.S. was trying to do with this blocked was create an illusion like it was helping to narrow your waist some! In my opinion this does not work very well unless you have a totally flat stomach. If you have some pudgy then that blocked area draws attention to that. Since, Ashley Simpson is so thin I guess she really doesn't need to worry about it.

The next thing is the scoop neck. The scoop neck on this dress is very plain nothing too exiting going on there. From the scoop neck come the puffed sleeves. I am sad to say that as much as I love A.B.S. they did not do a great job on the puff sleeves. The puff is a little too much at the top and there are little pleats in the puff and the sleeves just hang straight. Then they taper down near the elbow!

The dress itself comes down almost to the knee. I don't know if A.B.S. did this on purpose, but the hem looks a little unfinished so it gives it a little bit of a tacky look. I am sorry that might have sounded a little mean but I could not find another word!

Overall the dress really doe not have that much shape. I would not get much use out this dress. Maybe if I had the perfect body like Ashley Simpson I could make this dress work. However, you should not have to make a dress work for you, you should be working it! I would not get much out this dress except to wear to bed! For $113.00 I need much more out of a dress! I would say go to Target and you will probably be able to find something that is cuter and less expensive by far!
