Pearl Izumi syncroPACE Running Shoes

Pearl Izumi came into existence over 50 years ago when a father produced Japan's first cycling apparel for his son who was a promising racer. The name comes from the gem "pearl" and an area in Japan known for its clear water, "Izumi." The literal translation for Pearl Izumi is "fountain of pearls."

Although Pearl Izumi is heavily grounded in cycling and technical-performing sports apparel they have a cult following when it comes to their running shoes. Although the syncroPACE is a true running shoe it's lightweight design, out of the box comfort, and a 360 degree stability lacing system that makes it perfect for those of us interested in using the shoe for both the running and cycling portion of a triathlon.

The Pearl Izumi syncroPace is a lightweight stability shoe. I purchased the Pearl Izumi syncroPace as a running shoe, but have incorporated it into my cycling as well. Training for a triathlon I needed something that was lightweight and versatile. I also needed a shoe that offered support for my slight pronation. Even though this shoe weighs less then a pound (the women's size seven weighs in at 10.5 ounces) it has the ability to correct slight pronation (inward tilting of the foot).

The shoe has seamless upper technology that is not only extremely comfortable, but prevents irritation and blisters. This is essential for longer running or cycling sessions. Another comfort feature is the patented SyncroFrame guidance system which increases shock absorption. You will be able to run long distances in this shoe with ease.

Another benefit of the seamless upper body is that it is great for the runner or bicycler with a narrower foot bed. You can wear this shoe without having to worry about pulling the laces to tightly and cutting off the circulation in your foot.

I know I often times workout at night. The Pearl Izumi syncroPACE offers 360-degree reflectivity which adds to the safety of evening cycling or running.

This shoe is a must buy for anyone looking for a comfortable lightweight shoe that can crossover easily from running to cycling.
