The origin of this special day are kind of sketchy as to who got the ball rolling and started this most auspicious day in the food industry. Probably someone who simply loved pecan pies. What we do know is that the pecan pie was first created by French settlers in New Orleans after they were introduced to the pecan by Native Americans inhabiting that area.

How to Celebrate Pecan Pie Day

Well, the easiest way to celebrate National Pecan Pie Day is to bake your own pecan pie and share it with friends and family. Or perhaps bake an extra pecan pie for friends and neighbors. Many might have a favorite family pecan pie recipe that they would like to use. But if you don't have a favorite pecan pie recipe try looking around on the Internet for a pecan pie recipe. There are literally thousands of sites on the Internet that offer free pecan pie recipes. Or you could try the following pecan pie recipe.

Pecan Pie Recipe Ingredients

1 Cup Brown Sugar
3 Eggs
1 Tablespoon Flour
1 Cup Corn Syrup
1 Teaspoon Vanilla
11/2 cups Pecans
1 9inch Pie Shell

Preparation

Step One - Take the pie shell and place in a baking dish. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

Step Two - Take the eggs and beat in a bowl. Slowly add in the flour and sugar, syrup, butter, vanilla. Add the pecans and mix. Pour the mixture into the pie shell and bake for about an hour or until done.

Step Three - This is the fun part. Serve the pie with a cool tall glass of tea or lemonade. And enjoy Pecan Pie Day!
