I found the PedEgg in a local grocery store and decided to finally give it a try. They are available at most major retailers and drug stores now. You can often find them at special as seen on tv stores and the internet. Some stores have began carrying the refill blade packs as well.
At first, I couldn't see how the blades could possibly remove the dry skin from my feet. They did not look sharp or painful in the least bit. I read the directions and put it together. I wasn't getting any results when I first started. I was using an up and down motion hoping to get the best traction between my feet and the blade. I then figured out that you need to rub it in certain directions against your foot. The best way is to turn the pedegg sideways and move it back and forth. Once I changed this the dead skin started coming right off. You really don't need to use excessive force or aggressive movement. It is best to keep a nice and steady pace.
It was a bit messier then it claims to be. You have to keep your arm moving in certain directions in order for all of the skin to get pushed into the bottom compartment. This can be rectified simply by keeping a small towel under the area you are working. The towel can easily be placed in the washer afterwards. All in all it is not enough of a deterrent for me to consider another product.
I have been using the PedEgg for six months now, and I am extremely happy with the results. my feet are almost completely smooth and they don't hurt anymore at all. It not only removes the dead skin on your feet, but it also removes other hardened areas, such as, calluses. Once you've used the product a few times it becomes much easier and you don't have to use it as often. I only use it about once every three weeks. It is also very fast. I spend less then ten minutes using this product.
It is not advisable to use this product on wet or recently cleaned feet. The skin becomes too soft and it will rub your skin raw. It also leaves gaps in the areas. This will lead to more rough, uneven skin. If you can maneuver properly it will also get the dry cracked skin out from between your toes. I have no personal experience with this, but have watched it done.
They sell replacement blades in stores now also. I have yet to need to replace my blades. They seem to work as well as they did when I bought it. The package has two blades included. I have yet to use the extra blade. I would suggest buying a separate buffing pad for smoothing out your feet afterwords though. Theirs is very thin and not very productive. It also wore . down within the first three times I used it. For an extra pedicured feel, apply a moisturizing lotion after use. This will optimize the softness and look of the skin.
In closing, the PedEgg is the first and only product that I recommend off of an infomercial. It really does miracles for dry and cracked feet. while the product doesn't hold up to all of it's claims, it is still extremely recommendable. To avoid extra cost, I'd buy it in the store along with the replacements. It retails for around ten dollars. You have to pay shipping and handling through the infomercial, which adds extra cost
