Pee & Poo Toys
The Pee & Poo toys are plush figures in the shape of a yellow drop of liquid (Pee) and a brown blob (Poo). The website claims these toys are suitable for children of all ages and are machine washable. Thank goodness Pee & Poo can be washed. Together the Pee & Poo plush toys sell for $40 per set.
Pee & Poo Clothing
Next up is the Pee & Poo clothing line. Adults have limited apparel choices: socks, a woman's tee, and male and female underwear. The background color of all apparel is grey, with small Pee & Poo logos decorating the item.
The children's clothing line offers a few more choices; however, most are sold out. There is the turquoise blue long-sleeved onesie, featuring a rainbow with the Pee & Poo figures at the end of the rainbow, instead of a pot of gold. The Poo kids' t-shirt is sold out, but the Pee t-shirt is still available. Apparently Poo is more popular than Pee. There are also socks and underwear for both girls and boys.
Pee & Poo Accessories
Also available for sale on www.peeandpoo.com are plush Pee & Poo keychains, a Pee & Poo letter set, and Pee & Poo tattoos. These items range in price from $5 for the tattoos and $14 for the letter set.
Online Pee & Poo Fun
For those who can't get enough Pee & Poo, there are Pee & Poo e-cards, wallpaper, and online games. Choose from four e-cards to send your loved ones, although I'm not sure how I would react to receiving a Pee & Poo card from a boyfriend.
The Story Behind Pee & Poo
Pee & Poo brand was created in late 2004 by a Swedish graphic designer Emma Megitt. The original intent, according to www.peeandpoo.com, was for the line to be used in potty training. They tout the Pee & Poo plush dolls as cuddly companions for potty training kids, and the craze has spread to teens and adults as well.
Would I let my children own Pee & Poo toys, clothing or accessories?
I have mixed feelings about the Pee & Poo brand. At first I was disgusted about it. Of course, I heard about the Pee & Poo dolls from my 27-year-old friend who desperately wanted them for his computer desk. I think the Pee & Poo brand would be fine for teens and adults, but for younger kids I am leery. As a potty training tool, it probably works well in assisting with children who have a fear of bodily functions.
But to answer my question, I would not buy the Pee & Poo toys or clothes for my kids. My children have a hard enough time remembering to keep bathroom talk to the bathroom. Last thing I need is to hear, "But that's my Poo doll!" in the middle of the mall, restaurant, or church.
