Pee Wee Herman is a fictional comic character played by Paul Reubens, who is an American comedian. He is well known for two of his television series and films that were released in the 1980s. The fictional character (Pee Wee Herman) that started as a stage act quickly became a special television show on HBO in 1981. He joined the Los Angeles-based improvisational comedy team, The Groundlings, and since then remained a member of their team, for over six years working with renowned people like John Paragon, Bob McClurg, Susan Barnes and Phil Hartman.

Last night, Paul Reubens appeared on the Jay Leno Show, and it seems like his appearance is being appreciated by a lot of people. Pee Wee Herman wore the same outfit that he had been wearing for years which included his signature gray suit, red bow tie and white shoes. This is the exact attire that he wore on the sets of "Pee Wee's Playhouse" during the 1980's. He also showed his new "abstinence ring" on camera, for the viewers of The Jay Leno Show.

Paul Reubens, showed off his new "abstinence ring" to Jay Leno in a sense of humor. He actually referred to the arrest he underwent for an exposure at an adult theater in the year 1991. This single incident alone changed his image totally, making him a questionable adult from an entertainer, within a matter of minutes.

In 1991, at the time of being arrested, Paul Reubens, was only known as an actor of a movie called Pee-Wee's Big Adventure and the television series on HBO known as Pee-Wee's Playhouse. After ten years of the theater incident, Paul Reubens was arrested again. This time he was charged with the possession of child pornography. It was the last month when the child pornography charge was dropped, when Rubens confessed to a lesser charge of obscenity.

For years, Reubens has been out of sight, especially after the child pornography case. However, he has taken a few steps towards making a comeo and a few special appearances on Reno 911, 30 Rock, Dirt and Pushing Daisies.

On Auguest 10 2009, Paul Reubens announced that he would be playing Pee-wee on a new stage at Henry Fonda Theater in Hollywood. This play would run between November 19 - November 20. Paul Reubens will also make a come back with a role in Life During Wartime, which is a sequel to Happiness, directed by Todd Solondz's.
