When I say that the game is easy enough for almost any age what I mean is that any kid or adult will find this game entertaining. I myself find this game quite fun and my 4 year old niece finds herself trying to beat level after level. The fun part of the game is the pure randomness of the ball. See the object of this game is to shoot a little ball down through a whole bunch of pegs and try to hit the orange ones. While almost having no clue were the ball is going to go and trying to hit the pegs, you also will try to get the ball in a bucket or bowl (however you want to think about it) at the bottom of the screen. Also the bucket or bowl goes back and forth from side to side so that increases the pure randomness of the game. If you are to get it in the bowl or bucket then you will get a free ball. Trust me you want as many balls as you can get, they are like extra lives. The object of this game, in story mode that is, is to hit all 25 orange pegs with only 10 balls. Granted you will get extra balls from making a ball into the bucket or bowl or you can hit enough pegs in one shot to obtain another ball as well. Sometimes I found myself only hitting one peg and then ending up losing my ball by missing the bowl or bucket below. That is were the challenging part of the game comes in at. With experienced gamers you will find yourself kind of frustrated with this game and times and in pure amusement at other times. Since you will aim with precision and yet still not hit the target you want to hit. Then your ball will go flying all over the place, granted at the same time you might get lucky.
Peggle starts off quite easy for a decent gamer, but will test your skill by the end. In the first few levels the game is rather simple, by the pegs are close together and not moving. Plus you will also have bars on the side to help your ball come back to the middle. After you get into the game a little bit farther Peggle will start to be come challenging with the pegs starting to move. Also you will have to start clearing off some of the not required pegs to get to the ones you want. To help you with your new challenges of the levels there is power ups.
There are many different power ups in the game and I don't want to spoil it for some of you gamers out there, who are reading this and want try out the game for yourselves. I will only go over my favorite ones. First I would have to say my favorite one is the ghost ball or that is what I call it. You get this ghost ball as a power up from using the pumpkin character. What it does is when your normal ball would end up going down and dieing it will start back up at the top and go through all the pegs again, giving you more points and a new chance to make it in the bucket or bowl. My second favorite power up is the fire ball. You get this power up from using the dragon character. This power up makes your ball engulfed in flames and will blaze through the pegs. Also the bowl or bucket will be covered over with a lid, so to speak, and your fire ball will bounce off the bowl or bucket at first. There are many other power ups as well but I don't want to spoil it for the gamers who want to try out this game and experience the game for themselves.
Ok, let us say that you get the game and end up beating the adventure mode. Now what are you suppose to do, is that the end of the game. No, there is still a bunch to do. After beating adventure mode you unlock 75 challenges. It's kind of like a puzzle mode so to speak. I will only explain a few of the challenges you will face in this mode. Well first I will go with my favorite, which is when you get to go head to head with the computer to see who will get the highest score. Now this to me is a challenge, because somehow the computer has this ability to get the last peg and with the last peg you will get extra points. Another one is a points challenge, which is that you try to get up to 300,000 points before you beat the stage. Some of the points challenges are a lot more points then just 300,000. The third and final challenge I will tell you about is the one were there is extra pegs. In this challenge you will have to hit 45 orange pegs instead of just 25 pegs, with only 10 balls.
Well there you have it; this is my review of Peggle Deluxe. I hope that I interested enough of you who are reading this to at least download the free trail game and try it out. I personally think you will not be disappointed.
