Peggle - PC Game Review

Walter Kovacs
Peggle may be one of the most popular game for the PC or Mac out in the world today. It has tons of downloads, and I don't know many people who don't know what it is. The plot of the game is fun, the graphics are both cartoonish and very fluid, and the interesting features of the game will keep you hooked long after you beat the regular adventure mode.

Peggle is a lot of fun because of its simple plot. The objective of the game is to fire little aluminum balls out of a shooter and hit all 25 red pegs that are on the screen. There are blue pegs that act as obstacles, as well as green pegs that give you power-ups. The game is very simple, but takes a bit of planning to beat. You can't just fire randomly if you are trying to hit 25 red pegs with only 10 shots.

A fun feature of Peggle is all the power-ups. In Peggle, everytime you clear five stages, you recieve a new Skill Master. This Skill Master will teach you a new power move. Whenever you hit a green peg, the power move will activate. This will help you hit more red pegs.

Another fun feature of Peggle is the different game modes. There is adventure mode, where your objective is to clear all the possible stages. There is also challenge mode, which is my personal favorite. Challenge mode is where you are given a level, but something is changed. Sometimes there are more red pegs, other times, you have to hit all the red pegs with long shots (a very difficult task). This adds a new layer to the game that makes it twice as good.

The graphics of Peggle are top of the line for PC. Though they aren't super realistic, they are fluid, running at such a high framerate that it looks like it is real. The are very cartoonish, but that doesn't detract from the quality of the game.

I would rate this game a 5 out of 5. I am only rating out of 5 stars instead of 10 because this game is not a full-fledged game. It is not a Call of Duty or a Grand Theft Auto. The plotlines are not as thick as in a full game. This game is free to try, but to get the full game you have to pay.
