I do not recall a time in my memory when a major American political leader told their caucus to do their bidding no matter what the outcome. This bespeaks desperation, frustration and anger.
But the most heinous part is her demanding they pass this over the vocal objections of constituents. Does anyone, partisan lefty or otherwise, feel this is good for Democrats, democracy and the United States? If they do they are sadly mistaken. For any elected official to do such a thing is un-American. It is decidedly not how America does it's thing. Talk about your "slippery slopes!"
Pelosi's instructions to her caucus are especially odd considering her follow on point that "We're here to do the job for the American people." Pelosi dug the hole further with "It took courage for Congress to pass Social Security and Medicare, which eventually became highly popular, she said, "and many of the same forces that were at work decades ago are at work again against this bill." (my emphasis)
Pelosi's words are odd at best. For her statement to be true, accurate and/or on-point, those against SS and Medicare would have to have been the citizenry, for that is who is against the health care nightmare. But that is not what Pelosi's lie was intimating. No, she was alluding to Republicans being the fly in the ointment. And while Republicans are against this insanity, it is the impetus of the voters that has driven this whole issue.
If her words are taken at face value their implication is this was an event that occurred entirely within the confines of the Capitol environs. That is so untrue as to be nonsensical. That sounds more like an insane rambling from a bag lady as opposed to the Speaker of the House. But to frame her message she cannot dare state it's the people against this, now can she? Nope, so she is exceptionally vague in who she is addressing in her asinine and off-putting remarks.
Add to it that Fox just revealed a poll that asked "Are you fed up with the health care debate?" The result? 67% said YES! That is two of every three Americans. Sorry San Fran Nan but when it's 67% against what you want, you lose.
It remains to be seen how this plays out but if Democrats try the nuclear option they are toast if this passes. I guess I am just wondering how the rank and file Democrat feels about it. Would they rather see a terrible and unneeded bill pass to suit their wishes if it means an end to their majorities on the Hill? When the choice is the people by a two-to-one margin say no, no it is. To go over their heads and ignore them is suicide.
Like I said the other day, DO IT! I DARE YOU! DO IT NOW! Don't lefties understand that conservatives are following Napoleon's advice: "When my enemy is in the midst of a mistake, I do not interfere." (paraphrased)
Oh, and can I be of any help in that "suicide" thing, there my lefty pals? I'm just here to help, because I care.

Post a CommentI hope Scotty is right. Your 2 Pelosi articles are on target. Sacrifice jobs for health care? How ridiculous is that.
Pelosi is sending the Dems into political suicide with her healthcare jihad. The words of her fatwa is scary because this is how terrorist talk. Basically, telling Americans that our voices have no right to be heard. Bet she will hear these voices in November when all these health care jihadists are voted out and the Botox-bitch losses her Speaker position. Hurry up November!
Pelosi, Frank and Dodd, in a rowboat, set adrift.
I notice the the progressives consistently lambaste the GOP as obstructionists but refuse to acknowledge the loons that are deeply involved in such IMPORTANT matters. Before even getting into the MERITS of healthcare...the process cannot be trusted when the Pelosis, Reids & Rangels of the world are involved...props to the other side for entertaining the scammers at a summit. I love the wicked witch line LOL!
