Cub Scouts of Pack 90 will be hosting this donation event. It is a clothing drive where the items dropped off will be donated to families in need. The items that are acceptable for donating are clothes, jackets, shoes, stuffed animals, handbags, linens, curtains and more.
The Cub Scouts of Pack 90 will be helping collect these donations on Saturday the 27, 2008. This is the second time they have hosted this event. The first time was a huge success so let's make the second one even better. Pete Sussenbach is one of the cub leaders who will be out at Christ the King along with his wife Kelly to help collect these donations.
Speaking to a few of the cub scouts about the clothing drive I was proud of the response's they gave. The question posed to them was "How do you feel about the clothing drive that your cub scout pack is holding?" Michael, age 7, smiled at the question "Good" he said. Another cub scout Patrick, age 7, had a more elaborate answer. "Well, I feel good and bad. We are keeping our promise to help people but I don't like giving away my stuff." It was refreshing to hear the honest answer from these kids.
So if you're not doing anything on Saturday September 27th, 2008 drop by Christ the King Family Center in Blakeslee, PA to drop off your donations for the Cub Scout Clothing Drive. You will be helping the Cub Scouts keep their oath of helping those in need. You can even drop stuff off on your way to work or on your way out to the grocery store. Donations will be accepted between 9am and 12pm.
