Penstemon Poem

Sandy James
Penstemon are short and tall;
Enjoyed by hummingbirds and bees;
Never a worry with rabbits and deer;
Some call this perennial Beardtongue;
Thrives in full sun, well-drained soil,
Evergreen colored foliage with tubular flowers;
Mound forming are some;
Original penstemons are natives,
Nicely fitting into any garden or landscape.
