Pentagon Report Too Sensitive for Internet: Shows No Link of Saddam and Al-Qaida

Report Comes as March 19 Marks Fifth Anniversary of Iraq War

A controversial Pentagon report, titled Iraqi Perspectives Project, showing no link between Saddam Hussein and al-Qaida will NOT be released online, by email, or in mass distribution to the public, as originally planned. If you want a copy of the Pentagon report, you have to ask for it and the United States Joint Forces Command in Norfolk, Virginia, will mail the report on a CD, according to Navy Captain Dennis Moynihan.

The Pentagon report will surely bring additional critical attention to the Bush Administration as America approaches March 19, the fifth anniversary of the Iraq War. The Pentagon report confirms what many anti-war advocates have been saying all along and that is there was no evidence found showing that Saddam Hussein supported al-Qaida. According to a report by military.com, ABC News obtained an executive summary of the Pentagon report that says Saddam Hussein's main contacts with terrorist groups were with Palestinian terrorist organizations and pan-Islamic groups.

The Pentagon report is based on a study of more than 600,000 text, audio, and video files and documents obtained by U.S. forces during the siege of Iraq. Additional evidence used in the Pentagon report comes from U.S. military interrogations of top ranking officials in the Saddam Hussein regime. Jonathan Karl, ABC News reporter, posted a copy of the Pentagon report's executive summary at ABC News.com (click here to read.) Karl says mass distribution of the Pentagon report was cancelled because early media reports proved it was too politically sensitive.

The Pentagon report found that Saddam Hussein's regime financially supported suicide bombers connected to Palestinian terrorist groups, but the targets of Saddam's terrorist activities were mainly Iraqi citizens. Saddam focused the terrorist activities on Iraqi citizens inside and outside of Iraq who presented a threat to his power. The report also concludes that Saddam's targets did not include the United States or Israel, but rather Middle East targets for the purpose of self-preservation and elimination of those who threatened his state government control.

While the citizens of the world continue to pray for their troops fighting the war on terror in Iraq, and while the 2008 U.S. presidential candidates campaign with plans for the future of Iraq and the safe return of our troops, the Bush Administration will be faced with providing the truth, once again. The question is: will the world really ever hear the truth from President George W. Bush, Vice President Dick Chaney, Colin Powell, or Donald Rumsfeld?

You are so right, Tony. The many reasons for the war do go back to when GW Bush was Governor and when Bush Senior was President! I still respect and believe Colin Powell, but none of the others. Thanks for your informative comments.

Prior to the 2003 US led invasion of Iraq, there was not a single international agency that doubted Saddam Hussein was in the process of developing (WMD) or that he already had them. This was furthered by Hussein's own propaganda. Hussein believed this strategy would make his enemies leery..he was right. There was also evidence that a link between Hussein, Osama & al-Qaeda existed. True, there was no solid proof that there was an operational and/or direct support for the 9/11 attack. Evidence has even suggested Osama was no longer happy with Hussein's regime. As your report establishes, there was proof that Hussein supported terror. This link was NOT the sole reason of war. The MANY causes for war was established when Bush was the Gov. of Texas. So..I guess everyone lied...
