My country's Christmas Scene

Christmas time is the world's most favorite season of the year. We are excited during these days. And why wouldn't we? The blowing wind, the pleasant carols, the jingle bell, the lanterns, and colorful lights keep us all in such a holiday mood. We cheerfully decorate our Christmas trees with glittering stars, cute stars, and dainty bells while we tune in to some yuletide music.

What's more, there is this tradition we like so well. Before the hen starts to coo, we are already out of bed to attend the misa de gallo. And we do this for nine consecutive days! On Christmas Eve, we get to hang socks for fat Santa Claus to fill with toys and candies. Noche Buena, during which our family and relatives gather around the table to feast on sumptous food, is the favorite part of all, young, and old alike. We eat to our heart's content while we eagerly anticipate our visit to our ninong and ninang in order to seek their blessings. Surely, we never g home empty-handed.

In the midst of all these activities that keep us terribly busy and occupied, we shoul nevertheless be unselfish and caring, more charitable, and forgiving as well as more thankful for the blessings we have received the whole year through. In addition, to feel happiness and peace that Christmas brings, we should bear in mind and keep in heart the significance of the season.
