Dietary Supplements Are Extensively Used by Many People World Over Today

Nutrition supplements or dietary supplements like vitamins, minerals, and herbs are not new. Vitamins have been used in pill form for more than 50 years. The different kinds of herbs found in different geographical areas have also been used in the kitchen and the sick room, which is also termed as alternative medicine today. Most of the herbal remedies and one-a-day formulas had to be prepared at home.

People today are more ready to try natural herbs and supplements available in plenty in the market. These supplements have no or fewer side effects compared to the conventional medicine. Taking readily available nutrition supplements is easier. However, above all people are aware of their health and know the medicinal value of these dietary supplements.

Health Awareness: People are health conscious and want quicker and safer relief. This indicates that a major change in health care has brought herbal and nutritional medicine closer to conventional medicine.

Earlier doctors have been skeptical of these alternate medicines and remedies. However, today seeing the benefits of these age-old herbal supplements doctors world over are willing to learn about complementary treatments and are open to explore new methods of healing. 2. Ginger is commonly known for its stomach problem relieving properties. Ginger is native to tropical areas like India. For thousand years it has been used as a popular medicine for digestive problems like indigestion, flatulence, vomiting and cold.

3. Ginseng is popular stress reliever and energy booster. It is widely added to vitamin supplements and fruit juices.

4. Red wine destroys harmful free radicals safeguarding the immune system.

Preventive Healing: Both medical experts and the common person are increasingly recognizing that lifestyle choices are a critical factor in staying fit and well. Therefore, more and more people are paying attention to diet, fitness through exercise, yoga, aerobics and weight control by taking rigorous or natural weight loss measures.

Simple problems like common cold, constipation. stomachache, back pain, and sleeping disorders and serious problems like heart disease and cancer too can be avoided by taking effective self-care measures through vitamins, minerals and herbs.

Good nutrition gives not simply absence of illness but optimal health leading to a full, vital and productive life.
