Pepperoni Pizza in a Seasoned Garlic Crust Lean Pockets Review

Amy Brantley
While shopping the other day, I decided I wanted something to help sooth my pizza cravings and stumbled across the Pepperoni Pizza in a Seasoned Garlic Crust by Lean Pockets. It sounded delicious so I grabbed a box. When dinner time rolled around one evening, and my boyfriend didn't happen to be hungry that night, I decided to give the Lean Pockets a try. I have to say, I was thoroughly disappointed, which is a first because I normally love Lean Pockets.

I had some extra time on my hands and decided to bake my Lean Pockets, which I have to say is much better than using the microwave. The crust gets extra crispy and the filling doesn't leak out. As my dinner baked, the smell was intoxicating. After all, I love pizza and the smell of garlic in the air was making my mouth water.

Once dinner was baked, I decided to start with a corner of the crust to see how the seasoned garlic crust was different from the original. I made sure to grab a piece that didn't have any filling as to not disrupt the flavor of the crust. I was immediately disappointed because it just tasted like a plain crust. The taste of garlic was no where to be found. I didn't think that was too big of a deal so I continued to the filling. This is where the flavor of this version of Lean Pocket became a problem.

The filling was incredibly bland. Not only was the sauce lacking flavor, but even the pepperoni seemed bland. This was by far one of the most boring tasting meals I've had in a long time. This was one meal that I could definitely tell was lean because there was no flavor.

One Pepperoni Pizza in a Seasoned Garlic Crust Lean Pocket has 280 calories, 7 grams of fat, 3 grams of saturated fat, 25mg of cholesterol, 500mg of sodium, 41 carbohydrates, 2 grams of fiber, 10 grams of sugar, 12 grams of protein, 4% of your daily Vitamin A, 20% of your daily calcium and 10% of your daily iron.

I give this product 2 out of 5 stars. The only reason it gets to keep a star is because it's low in fat and calories. Otherwise, it would get one star. I cannot recommend this product, unless you happen to like bland food. However, if you want something flavorful that doesn't seem lean, this is not the product to purchase.

I just tried these and really like them alot! The crust could have more garlic flavor, there is just a slight taste of garlic. Over all I really enjoy! :) Thanks for your review. I Love to read reviews, but very seldom go by them, everyone has different taste.

Aww, darn...well, they can't all be winners...lol. Good review. I agree that some lean pockets are good and some are not.
