Want some great-tasting General Tso's Chicken without having to wait for Chinese food delivery, going to a Chinese restaurant, or cooking up a frozen meal? Then bring home a bag of tasty Perdue General Tso's Chicken.

The chicken can be a part of a great tasting Asian-inspired meal including rice, broccoli, carrots, water chestnuts, or any other great Asian-style food choices that you enjoy. Perdue General Tso's Chicken comes in a 26-ounce bag and can be found in your grocer's frozen section or near your grocer's meats and deli departments.

Preparing

There are three ways to cook Perdue General Tso's Chicken: in a microwave, in a conventional oven, or in a convection oven.

Microwave

Place the General Tso's chicken pieces in one layer in a microwavable plate and heat them on HIGH for 2 to 3 minutes, making sure you turn each piece over about 1 to 1-1/2 minutes into the cooking time. After the chicken is through heating, let the pieces stand for 1 to 2 minutes.

Conventional Oven

After preheating your oven to 375 degrees, place the General Tso's chicken in one layer onto a baking sheet lightly covered with cooking spray. Let the chicken cook for 20 to 22 minutes, ensuring that the chicken has achieved an internal temperature of 160 degrees. Make sure you turn the chicken over half-way through the cooking process.

Convection Oven

Upon preheating your oven to 350 degrees, place the chicken in a single layer onto a cooking-spray coated baking sheet. Cook the General Tso's chicken on the middle rack of the oven for 13 to 15 minutes, and be sure the internal temperature of the chicken is 160 degrees before serving. Don't forget to turn over your chicken half-way through the cooking time.

Flavor

Perdue's General Tso's Chicken offers a really satisfying flavor. The package touts a "sweet & spicy Asian-style sauce" glazed over the chicken. The flavor does have a bit of spicy after taste, but the flavor is mainly sweet. While fans of spice may be left wanting a little more spice, I think the sweet flavor of the chicken is highly palatable and exudes a very pleasant sense of Asian American cuisine.

As I mentioned earlier, be sure you prepare a whole meal around this chicken, because this Perdue General Tso's Chicken package contains only the chicken - it's not a complete meal.
